Can my roll off dumpster go in the street?
Street placement is possible, but contact Jefferson Parish’s Department of Public Works ahead of time to see if you’ll need a permit. Your roll off container should sit on a flat, paved surface free of obstacles. For residential projects, your driveway is usually ideal. Do I need to cover my dumpster rental?
If you’re expecting rain during your rental period, cover your bin with a tarp. Secure the tarp with bungee cords or straps so it doesn't blow away. This will prevent rainwater from pooling in your bin. Absorbent materials, such as dirt and upholstered furniture, also become heavier when wet and can add excess weight to your roll off container. Since landfills charge disposal costs by the ton, your bin has a weight limit. Exceeding this limit will result in an overage fee.
