Have you entered a room and wondered, “What is that awful smell?” You go around but can’t find anything possible of making it, until you take a whiff next to the garbage can. If you and your guests suffer from a stinky garbage can, this DIY trash can deodorizer is the way to go!
- Baking Soda
- Tea Tree Oil
- Small Bowl
The best part about this DIY project is that is super simple and very cheap to make. First, you will want to measure out 1 cup of baking soda and toss that into your small bowl. Next, add 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil into that same bowl. Now, use your fork to break up the lumps and stir the mixture together. And lastly, sprinkle the mixture into the bottom of your trash can.
I stated above you should use tea tree oil but if you are not a big fan of tea tree oil, as it can be a bit overwhelming. Feel free to substitute the tea tree oil with whatever type of oil you like. You can use lavender, lemon oil or whatever you like, as long as it is in an oil form.
Be patient after you toss the mixture into your trash can because it can take a little while to absorb the stink. It may seem at first that it is just covering the smell but once it sits overnight, you will begin to enjoy not smelling the stinky garbage can.
