A dumpster’s exterior is typically measured in feet, while its total volume is measured in cubic yards. To calculate the capacity of a dumpster, multiply its interior dimensions in feet (length x width x height) together to get its volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert the measurement to cubic yards. We offer a wide range of residential dumpster sizes, so we can customize a recommendation specifically for your needs when you order.
