When I rent a dumpster, do I need a permit to keep it in the street?
Yes, you’ll need a permit from Rockland County for any work that would impact county roadways. This includes parking a roll off container on a public street or sidewalk. Contact the Highway Department’s Permits Division for information on which permit you’ll need. Be sure you have your permit in hand before we drop off your dumpster rental. You don’t need a permit to keep your bin on private property. So, if you have room on your driveway or construction site, we recommend having your bin delivered there to save a little money.
What can I throw in my dumpster rental?
Our roll off dumpsters haul most debris types, including household junk, yard waste and construction materials. For safety reasons, we do not accept oil, asbestos, paint and other hazardous waste. These prohibited items raise environmental and safety concerns at the landfill. They can also damage your roll off container, resulting in an additional fee. Does my roll off dumpster have a weight limit?
When you rent a dumpster, your quoted price includes a weight limit based on what you’re tossing and how much. If you go over the limit, you’ll receive an overage fee. 1. Choose a size and delivery spot. We require 60 feet of space in a straight line and 23 feet of vertical clearance.
2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
