Is there a right way to load a roll off dumpster?
For safety reasons, we recommend loading your large and heavy items first. You can walk them inside your dumpster using the easy-to-open swinging door. Then, you can fill in the remaining room by tossing small and light objects over the edges. This allows you to spread them throughout the roll off container and make the most of your dumpster’s space. Make sure all of your materials are below the walls of your dumpster rental before we arrive for pickup.
Do I need to cover my dumpster rental if it rains?
Heavy rain can fill your roll off dumpster with standing water and saturate your debris, making the container heavier than normal. Exceeding your dumpster’s maximum weight limit will result in overage charges, so you may consider covering the bin when it rains or snows. The easiest way to cover your dumpster is to throw a tarp over the top and secure it using bungee cords so the wind doesn't blow it away. If you need help preparing your roll off container for inclement weather, give us a call.
Where should I keep my roll off container?
We should place your dumpster rental on a flat, paved surface. Your driveway is typically most convenient if you're working at home. On job sites, you should keep the bin in a designated waste or recycling area set away from potential obstacles. You can keep your roll off dumpster in the street as well, but check with North Chicago's Public Works Department to see if you'll need a permit. 4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
