Yes, you may need a permit for your dumpster rental if you plan to have it placed in the street or blocking a sidewalk. Contact Chicago’s Department of Transportation for information on applying for a DOT Dumpster Permit. If you keep your roll off container in the street in a metered area, you may be responsible for extra parking fees. Reach out to our team for more advice about the permitting process or where we can deliver your bin.
You don’t need to be present when we deliver your roll off dumpster. Just be sure to open any gates and remove obstacles from the delivery location ahead of time. Clear vehicles from the area so our driver can access the drop-off spot. You can mark the exact location by laying down plywood or using traffic cones or colored tape, but it’s not required. Contact our dedicated support team for more tips on how to prepare for your dumpster delivery.
Our Chicago dumpster rental service hauls away most types of debris, including household clutter, yard waste and construction debris. You can also throw away appliances, electronics, mattresses and box springs in our roll off containers. In some cases, these items may result in an extra fee, as they need more processing at the landfill. Reach out to our customer service team for more details on what you can toss in your bin.
Not always. If you’re tossing heavy debris like concrete, you should only fill your dumpster rental partway to avoid going over its weight limit. Each roll off dumpster has a weight limit to ensure our driver can safely haul away the bin. Landfills also charge disposal costs by the ton, so going over your weight limit will result in a per-ton overage fee. Use our weight calculators to estimate the weight of your debris and choose the best size bin for your junk removal project. No matter what you’re tossing, be sure it’s below the dumpster’s fill line at pickup.
1. Choose a size and delivery spot. We require 60 feet of space in a straight line and 23 feet of vertical clearance.
2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
