Where should I keep my dumpster rental?
Choose a flat, paved surface close to your work area. A driveway is typically most convenient for home-based projects. Contractors should choose a parking lot or designated waste area on the jobsite to park their roll off dumpster. Street placement may also be possible, but you may need a permit. Contact Western Springs’ Public Works Division for permitting information before you rent a dumpster. If you’re not sure where to keep your roll off container, our team will help you choose the best spot for drop-off.
Is there a right way to load a roll off dumpster?
We recommend loading the largest and heaviest items first. Walk them through the swinging door of your dumpster rental, spreading their weight evenly throughout the bin. Use a wheelbarrow to collect additional debris, then roll it through the loading door to empty it. Toss remaining items in over the sides or top, filling in any remaining space. 2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
