Where should I keep my roll off dumpster?
Your dumpster rental should sit on a flat, paved surface close to where you’re working. If you’re completing a home improvement or junk removal project, your driveway is usually best. On construction sites, we should place your roll off container in a designated waste and recycling area away from large equipment. You can have your bin in the street if you’re short on space, but you might need a permit from Acton's Fire Department first. Reach out if you need help choosing a drop-off location.
What if it rains while I’m renting a dumpster?
Cover your roll off dumpster if you’re expecting rain or snow during your cleanup. Secure a tarp over your bin with bungee cords or tie-down straps so the wind doesn’t blow it away. If you don’t, standing water will pool in your dumpster rental and make your debris heavier than normal. This is especially true if you’re tossing dirt, carpet and other absorbent materials. Remember your container has a weight limit, and going over it will result in extra fees.
