Should I cover my dumpster rental if it rains?
Yes, cover your roll off container if you're expecting inclement weather. Throw a tarp over the top and secure it with bungee cords or tie-down straps so the wind doesn't blow it away. If you don't, standing water will pool in your bin and add weight to your load. This is especially true if you're tossing dirt, carpet and other absorbent materials. Remember your roll off dumpster has a weight limit, and going over it will result in extra fees.
Where is a good place to keep my roll off dumpster?
Your dumpster rental should sit on a flat, paved surface close to where you're working. If you're completing a home improvement or junk removal project, your driveway is usually best. On construction sites, keep your container in a designated waste and recycling area away from large equipment.
