Do I need a permit for my dumpster rental?
You need a Right-of-Way Permit to keep your roll off dumpster in the street. Reach out to the village of Cottage Grove's Public Works & Utilities Department for permitting information. Be sure to get your permit after you order your bin but before delivery. If you plan to keep your roll off container on private property, like your driveway or jobsite, you don't need a permit. What can I toss when I rent a dumpster?
You can toss a variety of waste in our dumpster rentals. Throw away household junk, like old toys and wooden furniture, or construction debris, including concrete and lumber. Our bins can also take tree branches, but their diameter has to be 4 inches or smaller. Have a mattress and box spring to get rid of? Toss them in our roll off containers, too. It's important to note some materials can never go in a dumpster. Prohibited items include railroad ties, car tires, gasoline, paint and other flammable or hazardous waste.

1. Choose a size and delivery spot. We require 60 feet of space in a straight line and 23 feet of vertical clearance.
2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
