Why can’t I throw out certain items in my roll off dumpster?
Certain hazardous and flammable items are not permitted to be thrown into landfills, and must be disposed of in other ways. Prohibited items include tires, paint, oil and car batteries. If you have questions about what can and cannot be tossed into our dumpsters, give our team a call.
Is there a right way to load a dumpster?
The best way to fill a roll off dumpster is to walk your items inside through the loading door. This allows you to spread them throughout the bin and make the most of your dumpster’s space. We recommend loading the larger, heavier items first through the door, distributing the weight throughout the bin. Make sure your items are all below the walls of your roll off container and that nothing is draped over the sides.
Do I need a permit to place a dumpster on my property?
If you are placing your dumpster on private property, such as in your driveway, you will not need a permit. If you choose to place your dumpster on a street or blocking a sidewalk, you will need to apply for an Encroachment Permit from the city of Brentwood's Public Works Department.
