Budget Dumpster partnered with Lift Life Foundation to renovate the Fulton High School weight room in honor of Zaevion Dobson.
On Dec. 17, 2015, Zaevion sacrificed his life for the safety of his friends. Reacting courageously in the midst of random gunfire, he shielded three girls to protect them from harm.
A sophomore on the football team at Fulton High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, Dobson has since received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2016 ESPY Awards, an emotional commendation from President Barack Obama and, most recently, the renovation of his high school weight room in his honor.
To celebrate his life and to eternalize his legacy, football coach Rob Black made a request to revitalize Zaevion’s favorite place, the Fulton High School weight room. The Lift Life Foundation made that wish come true by completely overhauling the school’s weight room, transforming the space into a motivating atmosphere for the athletes of Fulton High School to cherish for years to come.
Zaevion’s death was tragic, but his heroic act of courage and all the positive that has come as a result of his death is one of the most inspiring stories you will ever hear. We are honored to play a role in solidifying Zaevion’s lasting legacy by giving the students of Fulton High School a place where they can realize their athletic dreams and be reminded to live like Zaevion!”

The Lift Life Foundation, a non-profit organization founded in January 2016 by Bodybuilding.com, strives to create a safer, happier place for high school athletes to train together. The organization’s objective is to inspire an increased affinity to health and fitness by restoring weight rooms, specifically in underfunded high schools. Many schools lack the funds to invest in up-to-date equipment and facilities, sometimes resulting in run-down gyms and unmotivated athletes.
As you can see, the Fulton High School weight room is now a fitness beacon and a place for Zaevion’s legacy to live on. Updated fitness equipment, fresh paint and a personalized design combine to produce an inspirational environment for the school’s athletes.
It was amazing the support the community provided for this project. It is an honor to be a part of the Lift Life Foundation and to help give the students a positive, safe place to better themselves. We couldn’t have accomplished this without all of the support of local and national sponsors. ‘Long live Zae.’
