Where Does My Trash Go?
Once you have your commercial dumpster setup and ready to go you might start wondering where exactly all your trash ends up. The answer involves a couple of different stops between picking up your trash and dropping it off at its final destination.
Once our garbage truck has filled up its container with all the garbage it can fit, it heads for the nearest transfer station. This is usually a facility located within the county in order to reduce the amount of time spent dropping off trash. They are essentially halfway points for garbage collection, since the trash that is dumped there is simply there to be transferred (hence transfer station) to another truck to be hauled off to either a recycling facility or a landfill.
Some transfer stations incorporate recycling technology into their daily operation, separating out things like aluminum and plastic for resale to reclamation companies. Other times, these facilities will simply send the mixed waste onto the landfill without sorting, depending on local regulations and ordinances or the policies of the company that owns the facility. If the trash is taken to a landfill it will be weighed and deposited in an open portion of the landfill. The dumping areas are meticulously planned out to allow for maximum storage and containment. All the other trash located on site is buried under several feet of dirt and protected from rainwater by thick plastic liners. These measures all ensure that your trash remains where it belongs.

We received ample notice as to when the dumpster would be delivered so no cars were parked in the driveway. We received a fair price. It was removed the day he said it would be removed. We received good information about what could and could not go in the dumpster. The man I spoke with was friendly. Just remember, they will keep your credit card info for 120 days after the service is completed so they can get payment if they should find your dumpster went over the 2 ton limit a month later. They will charge your card before you even know your dumpster was over the limit. They will not call/text/email that they are charging your card until they have already done so.
